Attn Nashville Bloggers (Video)
If you’re not in Nashville then you may just want to skip this one. (Sorry!) Attention all Nashville-based bloggers! I have an idea and I need your help. Watch the following vid to get the scoop.
So there it is. Are you interested? I have no idea if anyone else is already doing this, but if they are then I’m about to step on some toes. I have a very specific vision for this site and I’m looking for anyone who has the skill and interest to step up and help make this happen.
Please be sure to get in touch if you can code PHP, if you specialize in web and/or graphic design, logo design, are familiar with WordPress MU, or have any other relevant skills to bring to the table. This is going to be OUR community so everyone has a say in it’s development.
Anyone else as excited as I am?

So, are you mainly looking to create a hub where all Nashville-centric blog can be aggregated?
That's a part of it for sure. I also would like it to act as an area for collaboration: sharing of ideas, pointed discussion, event planning, etc. I also like the idea of having centralized topics that we could all write our own perspectives on within our own blogs, but they would be aggregated together for readers to see in one place.
What do you think? Is it something you'd be interested in? Given your experience I figured you'd not only be a great resource during development, but a great person to have on the blog roll.

Aren't there already a bunch of sites that break blogs out into geographically separated areas? There is probably some open source script available for this kind of thing as well, so you wouldn't have to have someone develop it from scratch.
http://9rules.com/ may be a good template to follow as far as how to aggregate the content and organize it though. Kind of a similar idea, just not limited to a geographic area.
Yes, they exist but they lack the personal touch. I want it to represent us, not just aggregate us. I'm intentionally limiting the site geographically so that there is a better opportunity to interact outside of the site.
Actually there is an open source WordPress plugin called BuddyPress, which utilizes the WordPress MU. I loaded the files over the weekend and it looks like it will be a really good framework for the site. I'm definitely not intending to develop this from scratch. That's why I'm going with WordPress. I'm not a PHP guy though. I can hack it but I'm not proficient with it. Since WordPress is all PHP I want someone who can really get a hold on it and make it do what we need it to do.
Really digging the 9rules.com site. Thanks for throwing that my way. That's really close to what I'm going for. Looking for a definite community feel though. These type of sites that focus on categorized aggregation just seem mechanical to me. What do you think?
