Fun in the Snow

It’s been a few years since we’ve had a decent snowfall here in Tennessee, so we decided to spend the weekend taking advantage of it. Our little Siberian Husky puppy, Argos,  was loving it. I guess he felt right at home in the snow. Also, I got my Beard Head from www.beardhead.com the morning after the snowfall. Talk about timing. I look a bit like Yukon Cornelius but my face was hella warm.

Toasty. I look like the Lumberjack from Rudolph. King of the Hill... bow before me. FREEDOM!!! Skopin' out the train tracks... Life is such an adventure. Mommy and her puppy. The kids making a run for it. Funny faces.

Photo Gallery: Sprawl

As our family was walking through a newly developed park yesterday, I couldn’t help but notice the harsh contrast between nature and the man-made aesthetic. This is an area that has been built to satisfy the urban sprawl of a new outdoor mall, housing, and retail stores. I’m sure the intent was to keep some of the nature intact and make it more accessible to the new community, but it was destroyed in the process. I saw flowers growing out from the gravel that was put down for an asphalt walkway; tree’s that still had ribbons on them where their fate had been reconsidered and were spared from being cut down; even a crushed frog who was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. There was a haunted beauty about all of this. I took tons of pictures but these were the few that I really felt captured exactly what I was feeling.
